Nintendo Wii-age
Posted in Game ReviewsI don’t know about you, but I’m incredibly excited for the release of Nintendo’s next gen console, the Nintedo Wii. I’ve been following it since the earlier days of Revolution, and when the announcement of the very interesting wii-mote, and although the codename was much cooler than the console name, I will forgive Nintendo…this time.
I’m not much of a gamer myself, played World Of Warcraft for a little bit, and am an active player of Counter-Strike:Source, so graphics and high definition 3D elements don’t really do it for me. It’s all about gameplay truthfully, and that’s what I’m expected out of the Wii, and I can tell you right now that I’ll be the guy that you walk in on going ballistic on the wii-mote because I think it’s so cool I just crushed a 320-yard drive in Mario golf by using my own swing…It’s a dream, don’t hate.
All in all it amaze’s me at how gaming companies such as Nintendo and Sony are taking everything to the next level, and really providing the ultimate gaming experience by providing the consumer brand new ways of enjoying their favorite console games.
As I was checking out the Nintendo Wii site and found some awesome screenshots and depictions of the player at given times in sports games. Makes me want one now!

Nintendo Wii
Posted in Game Reviews..As in ‘What the fuck were wii thinking’
I don’t really think it’s that bad, but definately came from left field. You can check out Revolution.Nintendo.com for a nice little clip of the WII introduction. Here is a blurt from that site.
Introducing … Wii.
As in “we.”
While the code-name “Revolution” expressed our direction, Wii represents the answer.
Wii will break down that wall that separates video game players from everybody else.
Wii will put people more in touch with their games … and each other. But you’re probably asking: What does the name mean?
Wii sounds like “we,” which emphasizes this console is for everyone.
Wii can easily be remembered by people around the world, no matter what language they speak. No confusion. No need to abbreviate. Just Wii.
Wii has a distinctive “ii” spelling that symbolizes both the unique controllers and the image of people gathering to play.
And Wii, as a name and a console, brings something revolutionary to the world of video games that sets it apart from the crowd.
So that’s Wii. But now Nintendo needs you.
Because, it’s really not about you or me.
It’s about Wii.
And together, Wii will change everything.
Thanks to Maz for finding an awesomely funny Video Blog post over at Gamespot.

I hope to god I’m not the only one that is psyched about the new Nintendo console, and a great line of awesome nintendo games, like Zelda!!! It has been rumored that the next gen Nintendo console is going to be named the ‘Nintendo Go’.
Some more console specs have been released, and some of the numbers are just amazing. At a RAM comparison with Xbox 360 and PS3, the Nintendo Revo only has 88Mbs, while the other two have 512MB. This console is not meant to be some astounding resource hog, it’s meant to bring all of your true gamers into a new generation of gameplay experience.
The price tag is also a big seller, and although it hasn’t been confirmed yet, rumors are that the console will retail for under $200. Something that has been confirmed is that the games will cost less than $50, which is truly amazing. It’s release might be sooner than later, but no reports as of yet. Many estimations on the release date point to the 3rd quarter ‘06.

And that’s definately no easy task. According to Microsoft they have sold 600,000 XBox 360’s wince it’s release just over a month and a half ago, which is pretty incredible. Oh, and did I mention that this was just in the U.S. alone. It’s very appearant that the obvious problems with less than 3% of XBox 360’s didn’t stop some people from claiming there copy of the next gen gaming system. Other numbers that might be interesting to you, are the 300,000 consoles that were sold in all of Europe within just days of it’s release there. Japan’s dissapointing release led to only about 62,000 consoles sold.
As if that isn’t enough, Microsoft estimates to sell somewhere between 4.5 - 5.5 million more consoles by the end of their fiscal year, which ends June 30th. That’s a sales trend that I’d rather not be part of.
