Hello everyone, I wanted to tell everyone about ClickTale today. The product is new in the eyes of production as it has just recently gone into beta, but you might have seen it being introduced over at TechCrunch last summer. I’ve been testing it over the last couple of weeks, and oh boy am I impressed. Every single time I look at a recorded visit I’m simply amazed at what I see. Better than any other stats tracking program readily available today can I determine what my visitors are doing when they get to the site, what they click on with which mouse buttons as well as key combinations with the Ctrl, Alt, and Shift keys.

ClickTale allows you to install a small javascript piece of code on your website which actually records mouse locations, clicks, etc.. of your website visitors and let’s you watch them whenever you want. Not only are these recordings shown but you also see general information such as pages viewed, browser, referrer, and last visit. Other information is also provided such as basic demographics, screen & window sizes, and my favorite which is the Heatmap to show where on your pages your visitors view the most.

You have to initially set up a basic configuration before installing the javascript which tells ClickTale some information about how you want visitors recorded. By choosing a percentage of your web traffic to record you’re getting a better sample of user data which is often more accurate then every single visitor.

ClickTale offers a free subscription which gives you 20 recordings per week, and larger subscriptions are available for higher traffic sites ranging from $19.00 to $99.00 per month.

Fit ResolutionObesity is a growing epidemic in North America and is twice as deadly as Cigarettes, Alcoholism, and Drunk-driving combined! Now that I have you thinking I want to introduce you to a new online workout planning system called Fit Resolution. Fit Resolution has just gone into a public beta and is still quite buggy, but the main functionality is there for everyone to use and I’ll give the nod that it looks like a great product/service.

We all know how difficult it can be to get in the mood the workout and exercise especially on those days where you just feel so rushed that you can’t possibly get everything done. The problem is that we always have time to workout, we just don’t use that time properly. The key is to have a solid workout plan that we can follow and get finished in the time that we have allotted for that specific event. Taking 30 minutes out of your day to go for a walk or take a run is one of the best things you can do, not only for your weight, but also your heart.

Fit Resolution helps you setup a great workout plan that will work for you by taking some simple statistics about yourself during the initial sign up process, it does a great job at letting you customize your workouts to tailor to what you’re attempting to achieve whether it be toning your body, or losing that baby weight. You set your initial weight goal and through progressive weekly workouts it really helps you reach it. Your weekly progress is tracked so you can really determine where you’re at and what you may need to chance to reach your goal in a good amount of time.

One of the best features that I see implemented is what Fit Resolution calls your “Team”. It’s basically a group that you can join and discuss progress, techniques, and other things with people that are trying to reach your same goals which is incredibly motivating in itself.

If you’re looking for a place to get started on that path to looking better and feeling more healthy, than I suggest you sign up for Fit Resolution today and see what all the fuss is about!

I just wanted to bring to light, or back to light as the case may be, Google Analytics, which is google’s stats product formerly known as Urchin. I remember Analytics when it was Urchin and it was a great product then, but since Google has purchased it and made it free it’s received a whole lot more attention, and why should it? A free stats program offered by the biggest internet search company in the world, who wouldn’t want to use this product.

It provides your basic stats such as referrers, entry and exit pages, and browser types. It also goes even further then that and can integrate with your adwords account which makes tracking your own campaigns that much better. If you’re looking for an analytics company to help you setting things up than your best bet is to hit up Google, or just click on the link I just posted. The service is free remember, so it really can’t hurt you.

Personal Search Syndication or PSS is a way of creating search engines on a specific topic for use on your blog or website by simply embedding a form into them, not unlike Rollyo and Yahoo! Search Builder.

That patent pending technology behind the PSS software allows you to setup your search engine in a few easy steps by selecting the websites you’d like to search through and the keywords that you want PSS to look for. From there PSS creates a directory of information that your search engine will use, but you can also link to this directory instead of using the search engine. You can no doubt see the value in having a search for your specific niche on your website’s and your visitors will enjoy it too.

PSS isn’t as much meant to be used for a local search on your own website, even though it could be used that way, it wouldn’t be the best use of this technology. Check out my Web 2.0 search engine below for testing.

GigaTribeGigaTribe, also known as TribalWeb, is a peer 2 peer desktop application that allows you to setup and share files and folders with your friends in a completely safe and secure environment. All you need to do is is have the software installed, both users, and you can add as many friends as you’d like to be able to share with. You can then setup what folders you’d like to share with your friends and they can then browse through those files and download any that they’d like. Due to the fact that the software is P2P there is currently no limit on file sizes which makes this a great alternative for things such as instant messengers, but keep in mind that without the premium version you can only download one file at a time, which for the most part shouldn’t effect you too much.

As I stated previously the transfers are completely secure using 128-bit blowfish encryption which means that no one can snoop around and see what you’re transferring. Also, only the people that you have invited to your list can see and browse your files, leaving you with the peace of mind knowing your privacy is safe.

The software itself was incredibly easy to install and setup that only took me about 2 minutes from the initial install until the program was actually running. The only thing that I would keep in mind when installing software like this is that you may need to port-forward your router to your local IP, if you have a router of course. The software does it’s best to take care of this for but may or may not get things right, but even if it doesn’t it allows you to either set your own port to use, or use the default port which is displayed in clear view.

What I really liked to see after the program start up was an initial test user that I could easily add and learn the functionality and interface before using it for the first time with an actual human being which saved me a lot of stupid mistakes. You can easily setup individual groups in which you set separate permissions for each user, just in case you need to prohibit file downloads/views to only certain users (This feature can be great in an office environment). Even more, you can password protect shares for even more security (Available in the Premium Version only).

Chatting with your friends is also a great function that all P2P programs should have, and GigaTribe is no exception. Overall I’m really impressed with this software and as a gift from GigaTribe from all of you devoted Super Justin.com users we’re offering 5 Free Premium Licenses! All you need to do is comment on this post with the username you used to signup for the product and we’ll get your upgraded right away. For more information on what you get with a Premium License you can check that out here.

Only with a Premium License can you get multi-source downloads which search other users on your friends list for the file you’re trying to download so you’re able to download simultaneously from two different clients.

M PlusI was contacted yesterday regarding MusicPlusTV so I thought that I would check it out. The concept is quite simply an MTV for the internet which aims more towards independent and underground music rather then the mainstream stuff that we see everyday on television. Music Plus TV is also built over a great social networking model in which individuals, artists, or even promotional agents can sign up for and interact with the rest of the community by uploading pictures and other content for everyone else to check out.

When you sign up you get your own ‘Channel’ which can be described as your own little piece of the site where you can upload your content, write blog posts, and other’s can leave comments. Other member’s of the community can then subscribe to your channel and keep track of what’s going on on your channel.

The site itself has a very nice design, although the first time I loaded it up I was a little taken aback at everything that was going on at once, but once I started focusing on the different elements, it is actually nicely laid out. This is actually a fairly new redesign that they did and I must say that it looks great.

Now, I mentioned before that it’s an MTV for the internet and I haven’t really mentioned any reasons that the two could be compared. Well not only does Music Plus TV offer the community capabilities of uploading your own content, but they also have streaming shows in which hosts serve you up great videos and interesting musical discussions…See the similarities now? They have a wide variety of shows for every type of different musical taste so you just need to find the on that suits you.

If you’re interested in some more information than check out their blog.

LA LogoAs of last week the Less Accounting Beta was released and I’ve had a chance to take a look into the accounting software over the last week so I figure that I’ll share my findings. Less Accounting is created by a company called Less Everything who’s goal is to produce easy to use, simple software applications that help the end user do things quicker and easier.

So let’s get right into it, initially after receiving my beta invite I had several problems. The first problem I encountered was the link to the actual application took my to a secure page of https://lessaccounting.com which isn’t available, so I had to manually go to http://lessaccounting.com, that’s alright though it wasn’t really too much of a hassle, but took me a couple of minutes to figure out that the page wasn’t actually down, it was just an incorrect link. My second problem took a few days to fix, the beta code that I received didn’t seem to match with my e-mail address so it wasn’t allowing me to sign up properly. I will admit though after a couple of e-mails back and forth with the creator’s of this software I got in. They were extremely helpful and polite.

My initial testing of the product left me less than satisfied as I was having many problems actually using it and due to the lack of documentation I was a little confused. After a few days I went back and most of the problems I was having, I was able to get passed, and once I got past the initial confusion, I started to realize how the application works.

The idea: You begin by creating your company with such information as name, tax percentage, and currency. Once your company is created you need to create contacts within your company, these contacts can now be assigned sales leads and projects, these projects will have many notes, invoices and proposals, that are all tracked with the same application. Less Accounting allows to control everything that is happening within your company regarding money, and shows easy to read reports for every aspect of your business.

This software is quite a bit to get used to, but if you’re willing to stick it out through the initial confusion and disarray then you’ll be fine, I was. You also need to remember that the application is still in beta and can only get better and better. One feature I do want to comment on is the ‘Export Page Data’ which is found on the top of every one of your account summary pages and allows you to download that page contents into a .csv file for easy viewing in any spreadsheet program. Finally, your company receives a subdomain of lessaccounting.com so you’re not looking everything up with huge URL’s.

If you haven’t yet signed up for the beta, you can do so here, you might just get a shot to test it before it launches.

TLAText Link Ads is now offering another great opportunity for bloggers to make money doing what they do best. I’ve been using Text Link Ads more or less since I’ve started this blog and I will be the first to admit that I was skeptical at first, but as soon as I received my first few link purchases I realized how much a powerhouse they really were. Currently I’m doing great with them (Notice 7/8 ad spots taken at the top). If you’re interested in purchasing the last one you can do so here.

The new opportunity that TLA is offering is called Post Level Ads, and basically they allow you to sell additional TLA ads directly into your most popular posts. For those of you with current Text-Link-Ads account all you need to do is upgrade your current TLA plugin by clicking here. This is an absolute great opportunity and no one should even think about passing it up especially if you currently have no inventory left on your regular TLA’s.

TLA has been testing this system for a little while now and some sites like JohnChow.com have already written about them. The plugin automatically takes the most popular posts on your blog and places them in their market place for others to purchase them, giving more of an opportunity for the publisher, as well as better targeting for the advertiser.

If you haven’t signed up for Text-Link-Ads already, then you should do so now, and start making money! This is way too good to pass up, and not to mention it should give you a better desire to write better posts.

We’ve all heard or even read one of the many O’Reilly Publishings, and now we can experience them like never before. The O’Reilly School of Technology has just opened up and offers many different courses and certificates to choose from for any level of learner.

The courses range from HTML/CSS all the way up to .Net and C#, with some Javascript, PHP, C, and VBscript in between, not to mention that’s only a portion of what is offered. Each course is 40 hours of work, and range from $298 USD to $498 USD for the more sophisticated languages. You can also bundle similiar courses together for a small discount and earn a certificate in that specified area.

O’Reilly has a great reputation behind them and this was an obvious step for them to take in offering online schooling to the masses, which is not only ingenious but quite affordable for them to do. Also, if your in the Illinois area, the University of Illinois and the O’Reilly School of Technology have partnered up to offer the Certificate of Professional Development by taking specific courses. This is a great opportunity for people that are out of school and want to refresh themselves in different areas.

I wouldn’t recommend this type of thing as a replacement for a local university or college which can often times be better for you.
